Our Story
This beautiful space began with a vision. Dennis McIntyre saw an old cedar furniture building and former sewing factory and imagined something extraordinary—a home for his family intertwined with studios for dance, yoga, movement, and healing. Blood, sweat, tears, and passion went into every detail, transforming this unique property into an inspiring sanctuary.
Tragically, Dennis—devoted father, loving husband to Michele Hopkins (Align's owner and director), and the heart behind this dream—passed away at just 50 from ALS on June 15, 2023. Every class we teach, every person we welcome, honors his memory. This work is forever dedicated to the strongest, bravest, most selfless and loving man we knew.
The stunning mural by Sarah McComb-Turbitt captures our story: the Bruce Peninsula's trees, waters, wildlife, sunsets, and night sky surround the Align symbol of expansion through movement. In the painting, the shadows of the McIntyre Hopkins children look on as Dennis and Michele ride off into the sunset together—bringing light and life to the building that houses both our family and our mission.
Love Lives Here.
